# Cancellation & Refund Policy

_Last updated 2026-10-07._

The short version: you pay nothing until you accept a quote, and you are never charged for a flight that does not take off because of weather.

## Before you accept a quote

Nothing is charged while an enquiry is open or while quotes are with you, so cancelling before you accept costs you nothing. If no operator quotes, or the operator does not confirm after you accept, the enquiry lapses at no cost.

## After your booking is confirmed

More than 24 hours before departure: cancel free of charge, and any payment taken is refunded in full.

Within 24 hours of departure: the operator has committed crew and aircraft, and the charge stands. Some operators are more generous, and the desk will always ask on your behalf.

## Weather and operational cancellations

If the operator cancels before take-off for weather or any other operational reason, you choose between another date and a full refund. You are never charged for a flight that did not take off.

In the monsoon, June to September, cancellation is common. Build spare days into your plans rather than counting on a single date.

## Turning back part-way

If a flight takes off and has to turn back for weather or safety before its main landing, you are offered another date at no extra charge, or a refund of the price less the cost of the flying already done, worked out by the operator from the time flown. Where the operator's own rule is written on your quote, that rule applies instead.

## Diversions and shortened itineraries

If the pilot diverts, skips a landing or shortens the itinerary for safety, the flight counts as flown when its main landing or purpose was achieved. Any landing or stop you paid for separately and did not get is refunded. If the main landing was not achieved, the turning-back rule above applies.

## Missing the flight

If you do not arrive for check-in at the time on your confirmation, or arrive and decide not to fly for a reason other than safety, it counts as a cancellation within 24 hours and the charge stands. A shared departure cannot wait for a late passenger.

If the operator refuses to carry someone it considers unfit to fly or to land at altitude, the same applies — unless you told the desk about the condition before booking and the operator accepted the booking knowing it.

## Weights that were not declared accurately

If the party weighs more than was declared and the operator has to add a shuttle, leave a passenger out of a landing or cancel, the extra cost or the lost part of the flight is not refunded. Declaring each passenger's weight accurately, with their bag, is the only protection.

## Shared departures that do not fill

A shared departure needs a minimum number of seats sold. If it does not reach that minimum, you are offered another date, the whole aircraft at the private price, or a full refund.

## How to cancel

Call the desk or write to book@gohelinepal.com with your booking reference. The time we receive your message is the time that counts.

## Refund timing

Approved refunds go back the way you paid. Card refunds usually take 5 to 10 working days to appear, depending on your bank.

## Rescue flights

A rescue is billed by the operator that flies it, for the flying done, even if the patient improves or the rescue is stood down after the aircraft has launched.

Most operators bill the traveller's insurer under a guarantee of payment. If the insurer declines, the traveller is liable for the bill. The operator's liability insurance covers its legal liability, not the traveller's own medical or evacuation costs.
